When another Merchant or Customer orders from you, you confirm the order, deliver the service, and the Idles land in your balance as Earned Idles.
Use your Idles — earned or purchased — on any other Merchant's services. No invoices, no waiting on payment terms, no cash out of pocket.
Earned Idles — received for providing a service to another member. These can only be spent within IDLE and can never be cashed out. Earned Idles expire 6 months after the date they were earned, oldest first, so the system stays in active circulation rather than sitting unused.
Purchased Idles — bought directly with real money. These never expire and can be refunded if unused.
When you pay for something, IDLE spends your Earned Idles first, then Purchased Idles — so you always get the most use out of what you've earned before dipping into what you've paid for.
To keep Idles actively circulating rather than stockpiling, Merchant accounts have a spending cap on accumulated Earned Idles (400 by default). Once you hit it, your account automatically pauses new orders until you spend some down — keeping the whole network healthy and liquid. Need a higher cap? You can request an increase.
Nothing is charged the instant you click buy. Every order goes to the receiving Merchant first for confirmation — they can confirm it as-is, adjust it, or decline it. You'll get a notification either way, and Idles only move once it's confirmed.
If something isn't right, completed orders support itemized refunds, returned to whichever Idles bucket — Earned or Purchased — they originally came from.
Every Merchant is manually verified before they can transact. Every completed order can be rated and reviewed, with a verified-purchase badge so you know which reviews come from real transactions. IDLE itself stays a neutral platform — it doesn't take a cut, and it doesn't get in the way of how you run the trade.
